Flowers Foods (FLO), of Thomasville, Georgia, which owns Nature’s Own and Tastykake, announced Friday that it will purchase Wonder, Nature’s Pride, Merita, Butternut and Homepride brands from Hostess for $390 million.
In November, Hostess, which is based in Irving, Texas, declared bankruptcy after its bakers’ union went on strike.
Flowers Foods said it would also buy Hostess’ Beefsteak brand of Rye bBead for $30 million.
