For grown women everywhere, Mr. Idris Elba revived that horrible habit of being attracted to bad boys. Elba’s role as the outrageously sexy corner/corner office guy, Stringer Bell, was memorable. Since his untimely departure from the show, Elba has been one busy man.
Besides DJing and rapping, he’s also gotten behind (well, and in front of) the camera to direct a Mumford and Sons video called “Lover of the Light.â€
As far as acting, Elba has been in numerous movies including controversially (for some folks) playing in "Thor." Elba has won a Golden Globe for his title role in the detective series "Luther" and he was a fan favorite on "The Office."
Rumor has it that Elba may be the next James Bond on screen.
The Wire, one of the best television shows to ever grace your screen, introduced America to a myriad of very talented actors. What have some of your actors been up to since the show ended in 2008? We answer that question for you in 2012, 10 years since The Wire debuted. - Demetria Irwinmore
Tristan Wilds has kept himself busy. Since playing Michael — the sweet, smart, sensitive (to his brother) baby gangster — Wilds has landed a number of plum roles. He starred alongside Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson and Dakota Fanning in "The Secret Life of Bees." He took a more grown up role in the George Lucas film "Red Tails" and he is part of the cast for the revamped "90210" television series.

If you were not aware of the uniqueness that is a Baltimore accent, surely, Felicia Pearson taught you something in her role as the murderous Snoop. Pearson, who was not an actress before The Wire (Michael K. Williams discovered her in a Baltimore nightclub) became an author in 2009 with the release of her memoir "Grace After Midnight: A Memoir." The book details her rough upbringing and her prison sentence as a teen for shooting and killing another teenager.
The Baltimore native was arrested in 2011 for drug offenses, but was eventually released after a guilty plea and received a suspended sentence with supervised probation. Pearson got glam for her role in Funny or Die’s hilarious "The Wire: The Musical Spoof" and she tweeted out another pretty-girl photo of herself that is for an upcoming movie role.

Jamie Hector gave a riveting performance as the emotionless drug kingpin Marlo Stanfield. Nobody plays a homicidal, drug dealer robbing, non-cursing, shotgun-wielding, homosexual thug like Michael K. Williams. Omar was a fan favorite, even got President Obama’s endorsement.
Since The Wire ended, Williams has kept himself busy with numerous television appearances on Community, Law and Order (several The Wire alum have been on there), as well as movies (Brooklyn’s Finest and Miracle at St. Anna).
These days Williams can be found on HBO’s Prohibition-era drama series Boardwalk Empire. more
