Take a Look at ‘Slavery By Another Name’

Prisoner being disciplined by being hog tied to a pickaxe in the middle of prison grounds

Tonight, February 13, 2012, at 9pm EST PBS will air Director Sam Pollard's gripping documentary, Slavery By Another Name. Based on journalist Douglas Blackmon's Pulitzer Prize-winning book of the same name and narrated by actor Laurence Fishburne, the film takes a hard look at the paralleles between slavery and the prison system. Featuring intimate interviews with historians and descendants of slaves, as well as vivid reenactments, Slavery By Another Name makes for a powerful body of work by the longtime Spike Lee collaborator.  Click here to read Pollard's full interview with BlackEnterprise.com and review exclusive images from the doc on the following pages.more
