Small Business Owners Can Apply For Marketing, Media, and Tech Makeovers From Comcast RISE

Do you need resources to help your small business rise? Are you seeking marketing, media, and technology services to take your business to the next level? Was your small business impacted by the pandemic?

The Comcast RISE (Representation, Investment, Strength, and Empowerment) application is open to qualifying small businesses owned by people of color. Through this initiative, small businesses will gain access to essential business-building services including marketing, media, and technology.

“We see and know firsthand how vital small businesses are in powering economic growth, recovery and innovation.  Now more than ever, driving awareness and maintaining a strong digital presence are crucial for these businesses to succeed,” said Teresa Ward-Maupin, SVP for Digital and Customer Experience at Comcast Business in a statement released last year. “We created Comcast RISE to give these business owners access to the tools and resources they need to survive the pandemic and thrive.”

If you are interested, submit your small business application by July 31, 2021. More recipients will be chosen quarterly.

Comcast RISE Initiative for Small Business Owners

According to research, black-owned businesses were hit the hardest during the COVID-19 shutdown.

“There’s this old saying, ‘When America catches a cold, black America catches pneumonia.’ Black Businesses, which never recovered from the great recession, have been ravaged by COVID-19 with Black-owned businesses twice as likely to close as their white counterparts,” said Ron Busby, President/CEO, U.S. Black Chambers, Inc in a statement.

Last October, Comcast Corporation launched Comcast RISE to help more small businesses win during turbulent times. The company is committed to helping thousands of small businesses through its multi-year small business boost initiative. Since its inception, Comcast RISE has awarded

over 3,500 small businesses owned by underrepresented groups with grants, marketing, and technology.

“While many businesses have responded by moving online or retrofitting to allow for social distancing, many Black business owners have had to halt their operations completely,” says Busby. “Comcast RISE will help Black businesses adapt to the changing landscape and position them to be leaders in America’s burgeoning online to offline economy.”

Through Comcast RISE we aim to create sustainable impact and give meaningful support to the small businesses who are shaping our communities.

Eligibility Requirements

Qualified businesses will have a chance to receive media placements, marketing consultations, commercial creative productions services, and more.

Here are a few of the eligibility requirements:

  • The majority of your business is owned and operated by people of color (at least 51%)
  • Businesses must be independently owned and operated and registered to conduct business in the United States
  • The business has been operating for one or more years

Go to ComcastRISE.com/legal for Official Rules. Eligible applicants can submit their application online by July 31, 2021. Visit www.ComcastRISE.com for more information about this initiative.
