The Walgreens State of Small Gifting Report found that most become pretty forgetful when it comes to bestowing holiday gifts upon those who serve them.
Key survey results:
Among those in service positions (such as teachers, and caregivers) roughly 7 out of 10 say that less than half of the people they serve give them a gift during the holidays.
Teachers and tutors said they get gifts from less than a quarter of those they serve (39%).
People really love their babysitters. The results showed that babysitters get gifts from more than half of those they provide services to (64%).
Gift cards are the gift of choice (64%), along with food and drink baskets (46%), food tins (42%), and candles (41%).
The survey also found that many shoppers do not want to spend a fortune when it comes to giving token gifts. Among the respondents, a small number of token gifts have a value of more than $20. Most of the respondents say the gifts they gave had a value of $10 or less.
