On Sept. 1, the 8th annual Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEAs) honored the who's who in African entertainment at New York University's Skirball Center for Performing Arts. The night brought together the best of the best in global talent and business.

Entertainers performed to a packed house, as the crowd enjoyed music and laughs.
A special opening performance by Nigerian music star on the rise Mish and the Ibom Attitude dancers ushered in a night of excitement.
"This is my first year at the NEA awards and I'm excited to part of a such a landmark night where the world gets to see the talent and culture of Africa," he said. "To be on stage with other great artists from Nigeria is an honor."more
Top international entertainer DJ Zimo (center) is also one of the co-founders of the NEAs. "This is a night to showcase to the world the amazing talent Nigeria and Africa have to offer," he said. "My co-founders and I believe it is important for us to create our own way to honor the efforts of entertainers here and abroad." more

Taking home one of the night's top awards was Nollywood star Rita Dominic for "Best Actress in a Film."
NEAs co-founder and entertainment entrepreneur Tope Esan (left) worked alongside partners to bring the star-studded event to the global stage.
