On Sept. 27, Ibom LLC, in partnership with The City College of New York (CCNY), and Mayven PR, hosted a Social Media Week event, "You, Your Brand and Social Media: How To Maximize the Relationship.â€Janel Martinez, Black Enterprise tech editor, (left) moderated the panel which included media, technology and law professionals who gave tips and insight on how to best maximize the platform for professional and business branding and best practices for companies and employees.

Panelists included Black Enterprise associate producer, Janell Hazelwood, who talked about pitching and finding clients and partners via social media and how best to engage your audience as well as those who can bring you media exposure. She urged attendees to truly strategize how they can create their platform and "voice" to become leaders in their industries.more
Ony Nwaohuocha, principal counsel at Ony Law, talked about the legal aspects of utilizing social media, urging business owners to have a best practices manual for employees and entrepreneurs to do their due diligence when using social media to conduct business.more

A filmmaker and photographer wanted to know how he could best manage his diversity of skills and talents using social media. Panelists encouraged him to hone in on how those talents are related and how he can best apply those skills and services in one or two industries.more
