I was a senior in high school when I got word that a plane hit one of the World Trade Center towers. I remember watching, assuming that the pilot got off course. But less than 20 minutes later, when the second tower was struck by yet another plane, I knew that wasn’t the case. Nearly 10 years later, now working as a media journalist, I stood in the same place where those towers fell. Today, following the killing of Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind the Sept. 11 terror attacks, President Obama marked the occasion—of what many feel as justice being served—with a wreath laying ceremony and a moment of silence at the 9/11 Memorial Plaza site.
