Is American Audience Ready For A Black Bachelorette?

ABC’s The Bachelorette has been on for eight seasons and for its entire running time all the bachelorettes were charming, beautiful, and intelligent. They have also all been white.

Misee Harris, a 28-year-old African-American dentist, is currently trying to be the first black bachelorette.

Harris has been campaigning on social media to be the first African American bachelorette. Her campaign and possible candidacy raises the question if America is ready to consistently watch men of all races vie for a black woman’s heart.
