Timelines flooded with mentions about Oprah Winfrey’s newly-launched cable network, OWN, on Jan. 1. Although the initial sky-high ratings—approximately 1 million prime-time viewers—have declined, the network is moving towards its goal of providing the audience with 600 hours of original programming.
