Apple iPhone 5 Pre-Orders Break Sales Record

The iPhone 5 set a new pre-order record within the first 24 hours of sales. The next-generation iPhone’s pre-orders topped two million in 24 hours, according to a statement released by Apple

. That is more than double the sales records set by the iPhone 4S last year.

Demand for the iPhone 5 is high with lines already

forming outside of Apple’s flagship store in New York. The Cupertino, Calif.-based corporation said while most pre-orders will be delivered at the end of this week, some orders will not ship until October.
