In her role as executive vice president and global head of capital at Goldman Sachs, Cooper reformed Goldman Sachs’ hiring process and transformed the firm’s work on achieving diversity at every level of the firm. The first black woman to serve on the firm’s management and partnership committees, one of her main areas of focus: creating and supporting a culture “in which each individual’s full talents, unique backgrounds, and distinctive perspectives can contribute to the personal and professional growth and to the continued progress of our clients, our shareholders and our communities.” Retired from Goldman Sachs, Cooper today has looked to impact Silicon Valley as a corporate director, adviser, and investor.
