Many employers take a combination of other factors into consideration before choosing their final pick. According to a recent CareerBuilder study, soft skills and personality traits such as a sense of humor, an eye for fashion, or even knowledge of current affairs and pop culture can play a major role in whether you'll be the right fit for a job. The nationwide study, conducted online by Harris Interactive from May 14 to June 5, included 2,076 hiring managers and human resource professionals across industries. Employers were asked their opinions on what factors ---for two equally qualified candidates---would make them more likely to consider one candidate over another.
