Shorty Awards: Who’s Who of Social Media Honored in New York City

TeenNick chairman Nick Cannon won for "Celebrity Entrepreneur of the Year."

The Shorty Awards were held in New York City at the Times Center recently, honoring the best of the best on social media. Popular TV shows, Web brands and companies were nominated by boards that included influencers, and the public voted as well. Hosted by actress Natasha Leggero, honorees of note included "Scandal," which won for "Best TV Show"; producer and member of The Roots Questlove won in the "Music" and "Singer" categories; and entrepreneur and former BlackEnterprise.com contributor Jullien Gordon won for "Best Video Blogger." Black Enterprise "Black Blogger of the Month" BrothaTech won in the "Blog" category and fashion brand The Brooklyn Circus won in the "Small Business" category.
