Instagram Now Influences Your Klout Score

While photo sharing is certainly nothing new in the age of social media, photo-sharing mobile app Instagram has managed to grab and keep users' attention with its funky filters and special effects. Unlike photo archiving and sharing platforms Flickr and Picasa, which allow you to upload and share your photos with your social network, Instagram allows users to easily apply filters to photos to create an aged, vintage look, or zoom in on focal objects and blur out the rest of the picture. The result is a fun, addictive and inherently sharable photo experience that keeps Instagram gaining new users each day.

Klout, the San Francisco-based social media analytics company, announced Thursday that Instagram users are now able to connect their accounts to the measuring service. The announcement also revealed it’s increasing its integration with search engine Bing.

The latest integration is a feature many photo-sharing social media users gave waited to see, and the first time Klout has integrated with a search engine, TechCrunch reports.  Klout reportedly began staggering the Instagram integration in 2011, allowing users to add the platform to their Klout accounts. Now users will be able to monitor how their Instagram activity affects their score.

In the company blog, Klout provided an update on its partnership with Bing, stating, “Bing search data will start becoming integrated into Klout’s algorithm,” adding that “search results will eventually factor into each user’s Klout Score.”
