“Regardless of what you’re seeing, there are black men out there doing good things,†said Peay. “There are black men out there making a difference, they are doing their part. There’s just so much negative media out there, you just don’t see these men on a regular basis.â€
Peay goes on to mention several other young, black men working to make a difference including 20-year-old Will Douglas aka Project X.
“I’ve known him since high school and he got involved in gang violence after graduation. Out of nowhere he was on my porch saying he needed a place to stay…Now he’s in Pierce College studying African-American studies. He’s a devout Christian now, he’s a poet now.â€
“I’m the youngest out of seven. And I’m a first generation college graduate,†says Bradley. “I always wanted to work in corporate America. But I always had a passion for my community and for being a positive role model.â€
