One Word That Describes You: Muse

What does being one of the BEMM 100 Ambassadors mean to you?

It is an honor to be part of BEMM. To be amongst the Top 100 modern men is something that I will forever cherish, and I am very grateful to be mentioned in the same conversation of these elites. Being a part of such a grand list of people means a lot to myself, my company and my family. It feels good to be recognized for your hard work in the community [and] business, and for being a solid individual.

What are some examples of how you turned struggle into success?

I’ve been able to turn my struggles into success in several ways. I believe that the biggest struggle is figuring out or understanding who we are. The ultimate struggle is the fight within. I’ve developed a true understanding of myself, and my purpose in life. Success is a state of mind. Success shouldn’t be measured based upon others standard of what success is, but rather ones own understanding of what success is for themselves.

What is an important quality you look for in your relationships with others?

The qualities that are most important to me is integrity and honor. There’s no dollar amount on someone’s integrity. If you are someone of great integrity I trust that your decision making will reflect that. Persons who have a great level of integrity hold themselves in high regard, have high standards, and are usually well-respected. I also look for honor amongst men and women. You can’t build a great relationship with an individual or company if you don’t honor that person, and or their company.

What are some immediate projects you are working on?

I am currently working phase two of marketing & branding for my first art/fashion gallery. I’m also working on a new gallery in Maryland for Fall/Winter 16.’ I have a recording artist that I am developing, and set to launch my new production/recording company this summer.

What is the best advice you ever received?

The best advice I’ve ever received was to read the book: As a Man Thinketh by James Allen.

What is some advice you have for other men who want to make a difference?

My advice is to just do it. Don’t be the person who tries. Be the person whose known for doing it.

How do you prep for an important business meeting and/or event?

I research the person or company I’m meeting, organize my meeting points, meditate, and pray!

As a busy Modern Man, how do you unwind on vacation? Share a story about your best vacation.

I unwind by taking a vacation away from where my business is done primarily. I’ve had many great vacations, but if I had to chose one that’s most memorable, it would be the first vacation we took as a company. We flew our entire staff and artists to Miami for 4 days. It was a much needed break because we worked so hard that year with pushing our brand and developing artists. The vacation was the most memorable because of the people I shared that moment with.

If you could travel and stay anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

If I can travel anywhere in the world it would be Africa. Africa is so rich in culture and pure in its resources. Africa is the motherland.
