ABOUT

Yamiche Alcindor is recognized for her astute political reporting and is noted as one of the most prominent Black journalists of her generation. She was recently tapped as the new moderator for Washington Week, the long-running PBS public affairs show. She also currently serves as the White House correspondent for PBS NewsHour and a political contributor for NBC News and MSNBC. Before joining PBS in 2018, Alcindor covered the presidential campaigns of Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders for The New York Times. In 2020, she was named Journalist of the Year by the National Association of Black Journalists along with the Gwen Ifill Award from the International Women’s Media Foundation for outstanding journalism covering the Trump administration. Alcindor made headlines in 2020 after asking Trump’s team tough and challenging questions tied to COVID-19.
